About

Coordination and communication between organizations responsible for managing disasters, both man-made and natural, need to be improved. For this reason, TLU International made it their goal to establish an exceptional multidisciplinary master’s course that promotes expertise in dealing with mass-casualty events and disasters.

The Emergency and Disaster Management EMPH is a one-year program that covers both the practical and theoretical elements of disaster and emergency management. Taught in the English language, it focuses on the organizational systems that need to match efforts with international and national organizations to provide assistance. Israel is highly regarded for its disaster management headship and with the program, students of different academic and cultural backgrounds now have a chance to learn the essentials of emergency and disaster management.

Through the program, students will get access to some of the well-known authorities on disaster and emergency management. With an academic faculty composed of emergency management leaders and world professionals, students are assured that they’ll receive a wide range of expertise and knowledge based on global and Israeli experience.

The Emergency and Disaster Management EMPH program has a strong collaboration with foreign universities around the world including Geneva University and Harvard professors. With an aim to assist and foster international partnership with leaders in the field, the program establishes and supports exceptional alliance between field experts and academic professionals. At the end of the program, students are expected to have an inclusive and broad understanding of disaster management.

Curriculum

Designed by professionals to offer an exceptional combination of applied and theoretical knowledge, the Emergency and Disaster Management EMPH program consists of forty academic hours of study. A thesis is not required, but students have to submit a final task that will count for 15 percent of their final GPA. The period of studies is 1 continuous calendar year that comprises 1 summer semester and 2 regular semesters.

Applicants have to submit several requirements, including a copy of their bachelor’s degree diploma, CV or resume, certified transcripts from higher education schools they have attended, two recommendation letters from professional and academic sources, a personal essay that spans 3 pages and states their reason for taking up the program and how it can help in their growth as a professional, IELTS or TOEFL test scores if their past academic degree was not presented in English or if they’re not a native English speaker, one passport sized photo and a medical form and health declaration. They are also required to pay an application fee of $100 USD. In case their transcripts are not presented in English, they need to submit a translated copy that is notarized to prove its authenticity. These requirements should be sent together with their online application form.

Students are required to pay an annual tuition fee of $18, 500. For those who need financial assistance, the institution offers several funding sources for them to choose from, including student loan programs, external scholarships, delayed payment plans and more.
