The International MBA Experience at Bar-Ilan University
Established in 1997, The International MBA Experience is the longest running English MBA within Israel. It is offered by Israel’s biggest academic community, Bar-Ilan University, which is home to more than 30,000 students. Bar-Ilan University teaches acceptance of pluralism, multiculturalism and diversity in religious belief and thought. The International MBA Experience is part of the university’s efforts in providing a supportive learning location with a welcoming campus atmosphere providing various social and cultural activities to its students.
Designed for students to thrive in the new millennium, The International MBA has a tough curriculum that is intimate in scale and international in scope. It is a one year program that allows students to work while studying to improve not only their academic level, but also their skill and knowledge once they graduate and look for a job. Classes are held on Friday mornings and Monday afternoons.
Affordable tuition fees and early admission payments and scholarships are some of the perks offered to students. The program also consists of a study tour abroad, which is probably the most interesting part of The International MBA Experience. The Study Tour to China gives students the opportunity to see the diverse culture, the huge production lines and the country while studying in the plush Fudan University. The International MBA Experience offers the perfect combination of fun, work and studies.
Applicants are required to submit their GMAT scores, official transcripts from their university-level course work, 2 recommendation letters, 2 passport size photos, Curriculum Vitae, a copy of their passport or Israeli ID card and an essay that discusses why they want to take an MBA degree and how they expect to apply the knowledge that they’ll get in the program. Work experience isn’t required, but it does provide the applicant with an advantage. They also need to pay an application fee of NIS 590.
Those who don’t meet the minimum requirements can request to have their application submitted to the Appeals Committee. The Committee will decide if the applicant’s background substantiates acceptance or if the applicant can fulfill other requirements for them to be accepted to the program.
Applicants who have any of the following are exempt from the GMAT examination requirement:
• M.A. in Economics, Engineering, Natural Sciences or Exact Sciences with a GPA of 80
• M.A. in other fields with at least 85 GPA
Applicants with a GPA of 90 in their first degree can ask for an exemption from the GMAT exam requirement. The Admissions Committee of the Graduate School of Business will discuss the requests. Every academic factor will be taken into consideration in the final decision.
The tuition fee for the International MBA Program is NIS 84,900 or NIS 88,435. It includes the cost of e-learning usage, refreshments, parking, the study tour abroad and studies.
